ANNUAL REPORT 2019-20

Jesus Saviour’s School, Khamanon, was established in 2007 and is being run under the aegis of Good Shepherd Educational Trust. It is affliated to CBSE , Delhi.

The Annual Report not only showcases the achievements and glories of our school, undoubtedly, but also makes us think deeply about our shortcomings too. We always have been committed to create an environment in the school which helps the young minds to bloom and provide a platform for individual thinking and holistic development of the child’s personality.

Academic session 2019-20 was commenced on 1st April 2019 with a prayer service conducted by Pastor Krishan Lal.

We are proud to report that 2018-19 batches of class 10th and 12th students have brought laurels to the school by their excellent result. The school achieved 100% result in CBSE 10th and 12th Examinations held in March 2019. Taranjot Kaur from Science and Bhavana Kainth from Commerce scored 88.2% and 85.6% of marks respectively. Kiranpreet Kaur of class 10th presented an excellent result by scoring 95.6% of marks followed by Jasmeen Kaur 90.4% and Rajanpreet Singh 88.8% marks and brought name and fame to the school. I heartily congratulate all these students and their Parents for the efforts that they have put.

In this academic session, we have taken initiative to teach students the election process held in India. We taught the students the election process right from campaign to voting, counting and declaration of result. Our school office bearers, thus selected through election were officially sworn in a very impressive investiture ceremony on 28th May, 2019. The ceremony was kicked off with an inter-house March past. Thereafter, every member of the cabinet including class prefects solemnly took an oath to abide by the rules and regulations of the school and also to perform their duties well.

The school has organized a number of recreational, cultural and sports activities in this academic year. We have celebrated Vaisakhi, Mothers Day, Teej, Van Mahotsav, Independence Day, Diwali etc. Along with these, every year we celebrate Christmas, Lorhi and Republic Day with great pomp and show inorder to instill a liking towards the different festivals, cultures etc., that are celebrated and observed in our country. In order to relax the students’ minds, we have organized a magic show, in-house picnic and one day trip to Science City, Kapurthala and Rangla Punjab.

To entertain the Primary students we have organized a number of activities like fruit party, Pool party, English speech competition, Rhyme competition, Storytelling competition, counting and reciting activities etc.

This year our school has been selected by CBSE as the HoL leader school for two years. The school has taken initiative to conduct a number of inter school activities such as Poster making competition and folk dance competition. In poster making competition, Smriti from XI science bagged second position and our students bagged second position in folk dance competition too. The HoL schools have already decided to conduct an inter school sports competition, such as handball for girls, football for boys and 100 and 200 m race for both boys and girls in the month of November.

We have organized a summer camp during summer vacation where our students got a chance to learn music and songs, dance, yoga etc.

Under the leadership of Mrs. Kulveer Kaur, buddies group has conducted various activities like anti-drug drawing competition, speech, poem recitation; rally etc in order to aware the students about the harmful effects of drugs.

School is divided into four houses and time to time we conduct inter house competitions like flower making, essay and creative writing, poem recitation, English declamation, Punjabi declamation, English speech, Punjabi speech, English debate, Hindi debate, group song competition, Science, G.K , and Maths quiz, paper craft, Rakhi making, storytelling competition, diya making competition,  rangoli making competition etc.

A number of students have also participated in talent search examinations like IEO and NSO.

A healthy mind resides in a healthy body. Jesus saviour’s school has always taken that extra step to make the students believe in that. The sports department had organized a series of inter house outdoor, tournaments for the games of handball, Kho -Kho, zig-zag , cone-relay, volleyball etc throughout the year. Not only that the school has always been taking great initiative to send students in sports competitions conducted by both Punjab board and CBSE Board. Our students have been selected for zonal, district and state level competitions. It is a matter of great pride to announce that 13 of our students have played in the state level handball Match which was held in Bathinda and sangrur. Our students even excelled in boxing and taekwondo too. Sumandeep Kaur   of XI Science bagged silver medal in the state level boxing and a number of gold medal, silver and bronze medals were won by taekwondo students both in zonal and district level.

With great pride I would like to report that our school has received the best school award for cleanliness, awarded by the Nagar Panchayat, Khamanon for the third consecutive year. Our students of IX-XII has organized Swacchta Drive Rally in the villages of Batthan Kalan and Harguna respectively with the help of Sarpanches of those villages, in order to aware the villagers about the importance of keeping ones surrounding neat and clean. Not only that, our students have performed a street play on the same topic and participated in the Plog Run conducted by the school.

The list goes on and on ………………………. I am very proud to tell you that, all these achievements we could achieve only because of the grace and blessings of the Almighty God along with the cooperation of our highly qualified and dedicated faculty members and the support and cooperation of Parents. I extend my sincere thanks to the honourable Chairman Mr. Joykutty for his valuable guidance and encouragement. I would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the parents and well wishers who have rendered their support throughout the year, in all our endeavours. I would like to conclude by quoting, “Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream for every dream that leads the goal.”
